About the event

Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, opus 9, is the French composer’s best known work, completed in September 1947 and first broadcast on French Radio in November 1947. Performed by West London Chamber Choir with acclaimed mezzo-soprano Martha McLorinan,  organist Ian Shaw and and cellist Evva Mizerska, the work is in nine movements and is distinguished by its calm, meditative atmosphere and subtle, richly expressive harmonies.

We have been reaching out this term, welcoming many new singers to our choir to enjoy this amazing work with us, and we are delighted to be performing it with our new friends back at our 'home turf' in Barnes.
